Okumura Corporation has released its revised financial forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025. The company projects consolidated net sales to reach ¥298.22 billion, a slight increase from the previously announced forecast of ¥298 billion. The operating profit forecast has been revised significantly upwards to ¥9.73 billion, marking a 28% increase from the prior forecast of ¥7.6 billion, driven by improved gross profit margins in the civil engineering and building sectors. However, the forecast for profit attributable to owners of the parent has been drastically reduced to ¥2.72 billion, down 68.9% from the earlier forecast of ¥8.75 billion, following extraordinary losses related to an explosion at ISHIKARI BIO ENERGY GODO KAISHA, a subsidiary of Okumura Corporation. This incident has led to valuation losses on forward exchange contracts amounting to ¥701 million. For non-consolidated results, net sales are expected to be ¥290.35 billion, slightly up from the previous forecast of ¥290 billion. The operating profit forecast is increased to ¥13.41 billion, a 15.6% rise, while the profit forecast is reduced to ¥6.95 billion, representing a 38.8% decrease from earlier projections. Looking ahead to the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, Okumura Corporation anticipates consolidated net sales to grow marginally to ¥298.5 billion, with profit attributable to owners of the parent expected to recover significantly to ¥11.3 billion. The building business is expected to perform strongly in the upcoming fiscal year. The company plans to release the financial results forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, along with the next Medium-Term Business Plan on May 14, 2025.
