Blade’s air taxis are coming to the Uber app

Joby Aviation has acquired Blade Air Mobility’s helicopter taxi business for $125 million and is partnering with Uber to allow customers to book helicopter rides via the Uber app starting next year. This integration will connect Blade’s Manhattan landing pads to key destinations like JFK and Newark airports. Joby is also working on FAA certification for its eVTOL aircraft, which can carry four passengers and is designed to be quieter and more efficient than traditional helicopters. Joby plans to launch commercial services in Dubai by 2026 and expand to other major cities.
