Directly hitting Alibaba's 2025 Yunqi Conference! Eddie Wu: Capital expenditure will increase more investment on the basis of 380 billion

New models, applications of agents (intelligent agents), and AI software products, as well as infrastructure hardware like AI servers, are potential highlights. Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu stated that large models are the next-generation operating systems. AI Cloud is the next-generation computer. In the future, there may only be 5-6 super cloud computing platforms in the world
On September 24, Alibaba's 2025 Yunqi Conference officially opened in Hangzhou.

The conference will be held from the 24th to the 26th for three days, themed "Cloud Intelligence Integration · Carbon-Silicon Symbiosis," featuring three main forums: "Yunqi Outlook," "Yunqi Technology," and "Incalculable Value," to jointly explore the latest trends in AI, cloud computing, and industrial applications.
New models, Agent applications, and other AI software products, as well as AI servers and other infrastructure hardware, are expected highlights. According to Shanghai Securities Journal, Alibaba Cloud will showcase capabilities such as ultra-large-scale clusters, distributed training, and inference acceleration, and will debut a high-density AI server supporting 144 computing nodes in a single cabinet and the new generation high-performance network architecture HPN8.0.
Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu delivered a keynote speech stating, capital expenditure will increase further on the basis of 380 billion. The goal of Tongyi Qianwen is to create the Android system of the AI era. Large models are the next-generation operating system. AI Cloud is the next-generation computer. In the future, there may only be 5-6 super cloud computing platforms in the world.
During the conference, Alibaba's Hong Kong stock rose over 2%.

This conference is expected to gather over 2,000 guests from more than 50 countries worldwide. Eddie Wu, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group CTO Zhou Jingren, and other industry leaders, as well as guests from well-known companies such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, NetEase, Ecovacs, and Li Auto, will attend.

Eddie Wu: ASI is just the beginning, large models will be the next-generation operating system
Alibaba Group Director and CEO Eddie Wu delivered a keynote speech. He stated that AGI is an intelligent system with human-like public cognitive abilities, which has now become a reality in the industry. However, Eddie Wu pointed out that AGI is not the end of development, but rather a new starting point. AI will certainly not stop at AGI; it will move towards a super artificial intelligence industry that can self-iterate and evolve beyond human intelligence, referred to as ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) Eddie Wu stated that the goal of AGI is to free humans from 80% of their daily work, allowing us to focus on carbon creation and exploration. ASI will serve as a system that comprehensively surpasses human intelligence, potentially creating a group of super scientists and potential senior engineers. ASI will solve currently unresolved scientific engineering problems with ideas that are hard for us to imagine, such as tackling medical challenges, inventing new materials, addressing sustainable energy and climate issues, and even future risks.

Eddie Wu indicated that in the significant transformation from AGI to ASI, large models will be the next generation of operating systems. "It's not that large models replace operating systems like Windows or Linux. Rather, large models and related systems will hold the position of existing operating systems in the interaction between the physical world and the digital world. In the future, almost all tool interfaces that connect to the real world will connect with large models, and all user needs and industry applications will execute tasks through tools related to large models."
Eddie Wu stated that large models, as the next generation of operating systems, will allow anyone to create an infinite number of applications using natural language. In the future, all software that interacts with the computing world may be generated by large models, rather than being commercial software created by various software companies today.
He continued, "Super Artificial Intelligence (ASI) will go through four stages: intelligence emergence (learning from humans), autonomous action (assisting humans), self-iteration (surpassing humans), and ASI." Eddie Wu also stated, "Large models will be the next generation operating system, and AI Cloud will be the next generation computer." In the future, there may only be 5-6 super cloud computing platforms worldwide.
