The People's Bank of China today (10th) conducted a seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market amounting to 612 billion yuan (same below), with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 600 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net withdrawal of 191 billion yuan for the day. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was raised by 54 points to 7.1048.

The three major indices of A-shares opened lower and then fluctuated downwards, with the Shanghai Composite Index losing 3,900 points, and the ChiNext Index dropping over 4%. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,897 points, down 36 points or 0.9%, with a turnover of 1.13 trillion yuan; the Shenzhen Component Index closed at 13,355 points, down 370 points or 2.7%, with a turnover of 1.38 trillion yuan; the ChiNext Index closed at 3,113 points, down 148 points or 4.6%, with a turnover of 617.6 billion yuan.

In the banking sector, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) closed flat. China Construction Bank (601939.SH) rose by 0.4%. ZTE Corporation (000063.SZ) rose against the trend by 4%, with a total turnover exceeding 25.5 billion yuan for the day.

International gold prices fell, leading gold-related stocks to retreat, with Shandong Gold (600547.SH), Zhongjin Gold (600489.SH), Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining (600988.SH), and Zijin Mining (601899.SH) dropping between 2.2% and 7%.

Chip stocks were under pressure, with SMIC (688981.SH) and Hua Hong Semiconductor (688347.SH) falling by 7.9% and 11.9%, respectively. Technology stock Cambricon Technologies (688256.SH) fell by 6.4%.

Lithium battery stocks saw significant declines, with CATL (300750.SZ) dropping by 6.8%. Ganfeng Lithium (002460.SZ) and Tianqi Lithium (002466.SZ) fell by 4.5% and 7.2%, respectively. BYD (002594.SZ) dropped by 2.5%.

Beauty and personal care stocks rose against the trend, with YIYI (001206.SZ) hitting the daily limit. Shuiyang Co., Ltd. (300740.SZ) rose by 8.7%. Jeya Co., Ltd. (301108.SZ) and Lafang Household (603630.SH) each rose by over 3%.

Film stocks continued to decline, with China Film (600977.SH) and Hengdian Film (603103.SH) falling by 2.9% and 7.3%, respectively
