
China Index Academy: Willingness of private real estate companies to acquire land increases, providing opportunities for construction agency

The report from the China Index Academy shows that although the willingness of local state-owned enterprises to purchase land has significantly declined, the willingness of private real estate companies to acquire land has increased, especially as small and medium-sized private real estate companies serve as important clients for construction agencies, creating new development opportunities for these agencies. From January to September 2025, the proportion of land acquisition amount by private real estate companies reached 13.4%, an increase of 5.6 percentage points compared to 2024. Construction agencies are also actively involved in the construction process to acquire quality land reserves
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, the China Index Academy released the September construction agency monthly report, which mentioned that since the beginning of this year, local state-owned enterprises have significantly reduced land acquisitions, while private real estate companies have shown an increased willingness to acquire land. From January to September 2025, among the top 100 companies in land acquisition, the proportion of land acquisition amount by private real estate companies accounted for 13.4%, an increase of 5.6 percentage points compared to 2024. Some small and medium-sized private real estate companies, as important clients for construction agencies, have increased their willingness to acquire land, providing new development opportunities for construction companies. At the same time, since the beginning of this year, some construction companies have intervened early in the construction process, collaborating with clients to obtain high-quality land reserves, as construction agency services provide a new expansion method.
