The People's Bank of China today (6th) conducted a 92.8 billion yuan (the same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 342.6 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net withdrawal of 249.8 billion yuan. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was adjusted up by 36 points to 7.0865 per US dollar.
The three major A-share indices opened high and rose further, with the Shanghai Composite Index surpassing the 4,000-point mark. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 4,007 points, up 38 points or 1%, with a turnover of 930.3 billion yuan; the Shenzhen Component Index closed at 13,452 points, up 228 points or 1.7%, with a turnover of 1.12 trillion yuan; the ChiNext Index closed at 3,224 points, up 58 points or 1.8%, with a turnover of 501.2 billion yuan.
In the banking sector, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) and China Construction Bank (601939.SH) fell by 0.6% and 0.4%, respectively. In addition, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (300750.SZ) rose by 1.5%. BYD Company Limited (002594.SZ) stopped falling and rebounded by 1.8%.
Leading chip stocks performed well, with Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (688981.SH) and Hua Hong Semiconductor (688347.SH) rising by 4.2% and 5.2%, respectively. Technology stock Cambricon (688256.SH) surged by 9.8%. However, Wingtech Technology (600745.SH) fell by 4.8%, as its major shareholder Wuxi Guolian Integrated Circuit Investment Center plans to reduce its holdings by no more than 3%.
Kweichow Moutai (600519.SH) closed up 1.1%, proposing to distribute a cash dividend of 23.957 yuan per share for the mid-term of 2025, totaling 30 billion yuan, and plans to repurchase and cancel shares worth 1.5 billion to 3 billion yuan
