
Ministry of Commerce: Will promote the development of the silver economy by expanding opening up and promoting the development of the housekeeping service industry
On November 6th, at the Hongqiao International Economic Forum sub-forum "Accelerating the Development of the Silver Economy and Cultivating New Drivers of Economic Development," Zhang Guosheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Service Trade and Commercial Services of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that further efforts will be made to expand the opening up of the elderly care service sector. The "Guidance Catalog for Encouraging Foreign Investment in Industries (2025 Edition)" will be revised to add relevant entries supporting the development of the elderly care industry, guiding foreign investment to flow more into the elderly care sector. By leveraging major exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo, Canton Fair, China International Fair for Trade in Services, Digital Trade Expo, and Consumer Goods Expo, as well as other economic and trade cooperation platforms, more international advanced concepts, products, services, and technologies in elderly care will be introduced, while also supporting more Chinese enterprises to explore international markets and continuously improve the development level of the elderly care industry
