Here’s why Lexus wants to sell you this 6-wheeled, ultra-luxe EV people mover

Lexus has introduced the LS Concept, a 6-wheeled ultra-luxe EV people mover, redefining its brand to mean "Luxury Space." This move comes as Toyota plans to launch a new high-end Century brand, allowing Lexus to explore new creative avenues. Toyota's chief branding officer, Simon Humphrey, emphasized that Lexus aims to innovate beyond traditional four-wheeled vehicles.

Lexus says the LS no longer stands for a luxury SUV or sedan, but rather for “Luxury Space.” The new Lexus LS is a 6-wheeled ultra-luxe EV people mover — but why does it even exist?
Meet the 6-wheeled Lexus LS Concept
At the Japan Mobility Show, Toyota revealed plans for five unique brands, including a new ultra-luxe Century brand that will sit above Lexus.
So, where does that leave Lexus in Toyota’s lineup? According to Toyota’s chief branding officer, Simon Humphrey, the new high-end Century brand will give Lexus more freedom to create and “take on new challenges as a pioneer.”
Apparently, that includes two extra wheels. After unveiling the new 6-wheeled LS Concept at the event, Humphrey said, “Lexus has always been about more than just four wheels.”
