As U.S. stocks trend downward, European stock markets saw an expanded decline on Thursday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index closed down 0.6%.
The UK FTSE 100 index fell by 103 points or 1.1%, closing at 9,807 points.
The German DAX index dropped by 339 points or 1.4%, closing at 24,041 points.
The French CAC 40 index decreased by 8 points or 0.1%, closing at 8,232 points
