According to a report from "Late Auto," Nio (09866.HK) has begun to externally supply its self-developed advanced intelligent driving chip "Shenji NX9031," providing technical authorization to an automotive chip company.
It is reported that the "Shenji NX9031" uses a 5-nanometer automotive-grade process, with actual computing power approximately four times that of NVIDIA (NVDA.US) "Orin-X." The "Shenji NX9031" project was initiated in 2021, with a project team size exceeding 600 people, covering front-end design, back-end design, verification, and testing, approaching the scale of an independent chip company, with investment exceeding that of XPeng (09868.HK) and Li Auto (02015.HK) during the same period.
Industry insiders analyze that different authorization methods correspond to different contract values. For a single IP authorization, the cooperation fee is usually in the millions of dollars; if it is a system-level SoC technical authorization, the order value could reach hundreds of millions
