The three major A-share indices of Shanghai and Shenzhen fluctuated slightly higher throughout the day, with the banking sector and lithium mining concept stocks performing well

The People's Bank of China today (19th) conducted a 310.5 billion yuan (same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 195.5 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net injection of 115 billion yuan. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was lowered by 16 points to 7.0872 per US dollar.

The three major indices of A-shares opened slightly lower and fluctuated throughout the day. The banking stocks supported the Shanghai Composite Index's stabilization, while the ChiNext Index rose more than 1% before almost erasing its gains, only to rebound again towards the end of the trading session. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,946 points, up 6 points or 0.2%, with a turnover of 720.9 billion yuan; the Shenzhen Component Index closed flat at 13,080 points, with a turnover of about 1 trillion yuan; the ChiNext Index closed at 3,076 points, up 7 points or 0.3%, with a turnover of 455.7 billion yuan.

Banking stocks performed well, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) and China Construction Bank (601939.SH) rising 0.4% and 1.2%, respectively. Bank of China (601988.SH) rose 3.8%.

Lithium mining stocks Ganfeng Lithium (002460.SZ) and Tianqi Lithium (002466.SZ) rose 3.9% and 6%, respectively. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (300750.SZ) rose 1.6%. The main contract for lithium carbonate futures rose nearly 6% during the day, breaking the 100,000 yuan mark. In addition, BYD (002594.SZ) fell 1.4%.

Gold-related stocks rose in the afternoon, with Zijin Mining (601899.SH), Shandong Gold (600547.SH), Zhongjin Gold (600489.SH), and Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining (600988.SH) rising between 3.4% and 7%.

Tourism stocks rose in the afternoon, with Yunnan Tourism (002059.SZ) hitting the daily limit. Changbai Mountain (603099.SH), Tianfu Culture and Tourism (000558.SZ), and Emei Shan A (000888.SZ) rose between 1% and 4.8%.

Leading chip stocks softened, with SMIC (688981.SH) and Hua Hong Semiconductor (688347.SH) falling 1.4% and 2.1%, respectively. Technology stock Cambrian (688256.SH) remained stable, rising 0.4%. Lens Technology (300433.SZ) fell 1.6%
