Geely Galaxy launches updated Starship 7 EM-i hybrid SUV starting at $13,470
Geely Galaxy has launched the 2026 Starship 7 EM-i hybrid SUV, priced from $13,470, featuring improved range and motor performance. The model is assembled in Indonesia and competes with BYD's Song Plus DM-i. It offers four variants with discounted prices, and boasts a combined range of 1,575 km. The SUV uses Geely's Leishen AI 2.0 hybrid system, enhancing efficiency and motor output. Production began in Indonesia in September, with plans to utilize additional capacity at Lotus's Wuhan plant.

Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) sub-brand Geely Galaxy today launched the 2026 Starship 7 EM-i, intensifying competition in the hybrid SUV market against models including BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Song Plus DM-i.
Geely Galaxy offers the Starship 7 EM-I -- known as the Starray EM-i in overseas markets --in four variants. After limited-time discounts, its starting price is RMB 95,800 ($13,470), slightly below the predecessor's RMB 97,800.
Specifically, the Starship 7 EM-i's four variants carry official starting prices of RMB 101,800, RMB 112,800, RMB 121,800, and RMB 129,800. Discounted starting prices are RMB 95,800, RMB 106,800, RMB 115,800, and RMB 123,800.

First launched in China last December, the compact SUV measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm -- unchanged from its predecessor.
The 2026 Starship 7 EM-i features a 19.09-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 130 or 135 kilometers -- higher than its predecessors' 55-kilometer and 120-kilometer ranges.
With a full tank and fully charged battery, the model achieves a combined range of up to 1,575 kilometers.
In low-battery conditions, the 2026 Starship 7 EM-i achieves fuel consumption of 3.15 L/100 km, down from its predecessor's 3.75 L/100 km.
It utilizes Geely's Leishen AI 2.0 hybrid system, comprising an engine with 46.5 percent thermal efficiency and an electric motor.
The vehicle retains its 1.5L engine, maintaining an output of 82 kW. Its electric motor output has increased from 160 kW to 175 kW.
The Starship 7 EM-i is one of Geely's international models, already launched in multiple overseas markets including Australia.
Mass production of the model commenced at Geely's KD (Knocked Down) plant in Purwakarta, Indonesia, at the end of September, Geely said on October 10.
Geely Galaxy to use closed SAIC-GM plant to ease capacity crunch, report says
Geely will also utilize idle capacity at Lotus's Wuhan plant to produce new Geely Galaxy models through production line modifications.
