Nio Firefly hits 30,000 deliveries, plans to add 17 markets to global footprint

Firefly reached the milestone of 30,000 deliveries seven months after the launch of its sole model, the Firefly EV, the premium compact car brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) announced today on the first day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show.

The milestone indicates Firefly has delivered 3,758 vehicles so far this month, considering cumulative deliveries of 26,242 units through October, according to CnEVPost calculations.

Firefly has delivered nearly 6,000 vehicles each of the past two months.

Firefly will accelerate its global expansion, having already commenced deliveries in the Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium, the company said today.

The brand will next enter an additional 17 countries across Europe, America, and Southeast Asia, it said, without specifying the markets.

Nio officially launched the Firefly brand at Nio Day 2024 on December 21, 2024, positioning it to compete with Mini and Smart. The brand's namesake first model, the Firefly EV, was launched in China on April 19.

On August 14, Firefly commenced deliveries in Europe, with Norway and the Netherlands as the first available markets.

On November 18, Nio announced mass production of right-hand-drive Firefly models, with the first batch destined for Singapore.

Earlier this week, Firefly president Daniel Jin told Reuters that the brand will enter the UK and Thailand in 2026, intensifying its exploration of right-hand drive markets not subject to punitive tariffs on Chinese EVs.

Firefly is currently in discussions with local distributors in the UK and Thailand, Jin said.

"We will significantly ramp up our efforts in countries without tariff barriers in the short term," Jin said, naming Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia as key markets.
