
Mainland National Health and Wellness Work Conference: Optimize Fertility Support Policies to Stabilize the Scale of Newborn Population
The National Health and Health Work Conference in mainland China was held in Beijing over the past two days (January 5 to 6), emphasizing the continuous strengthening of major disease prevention and control work while comprehensively deploying key tasks for 2026. It stressed the need to enhance monitoring, early warning, and emergency response for key infectious diseases, improve influenza vaccination rates and immunity levels among key populations; optimize fertility support policies and incentive measures, promote a positive view on marriage and childbirth, coordinate the development of inclusive childcare and integrated early childhood education, distribute childcare subsidies, optimize maternal and child services, and strive to stabilize the scale of newborn population; as well as actively promote the comprehensive development of traditional Chinese medicine services, fully leveraging the role of traditional Chinese medicine in prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, innovation, and talent cultivation
