Chief Executive John Lee met with Lei Haichao, Director of the National Health Commission, at Government House yesterday (13th) to discuss deepening cooperation and communication in healthcare between the mainland and Hong Kong. He also witnessed the signing of the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Cooperation Agreement" and the "Cancer Prevention and Treatment Cooperation Framework Agreement" alongside Zhou Qi, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

John Lee stated that the Hong Kong SAR government attaches great importance to cooperation with the National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The two agreements further deepen mutual cooperation and promote the high-quality development of healthcare in Hong Kong. He pointed out that the SAR government is implementing the policies proposed in the "Policy Address," actively promoting the development of traditional Chinese medicine, building Hong Kong into a bridgehead for traditional Chinese medicine to go global, and enhancing services for cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

John Lee emphasized that Hong Kong will continue to leverage its advantages of "backing the motherland and connecting with the world" to promote medical cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and support the national "Healthy China" strategy
