By 2025, Henan's renewable energy power generation capacity will exceed 90 million kilowatts, with wind and solar energy surpassing thermal power to become the largest power source. This information comes from the "Henan Energy Development Report (2026)" released on the 18th in Zhengzhou. The report was jointly compiled by the Economic and Technological Research Institute of State Grid Henan Electric Power Company and the Henan Academy of Social Sciences. According to the data in the report, by 2025, Henan's new energy power generation capacity will increase by over 15 million kilowatts, nearly doubling that of 2024. Wind and solar power generation capacity will reach 81.84 million kilowatts, historically surpassing thermal power, accounting for 50.3% of the total power generation capacity, becoming the main body of power generation capacity. Wind and solar energy will surpass thermal power to become the largest power source. In 2025, Henan's renewable energy power generation capacity will exceed 90 million kilowatts, with power generation increasing by 20% year-on-year, meeting all new electricity demand with newly added renewable energy generation, and exceeding the "14th Five-Year Plan" target for non-fossil energy consumption.
