
The "Hong Kong Building" Kwai Chung Pearwood Road project plans to be redeveloped into 1,100 public-private partnership units
Hua Xin Real Estate (00252.HK) has received government support for its land-sharing project at the former Salvation Army Girl's Home in Kwai Chung, which is set to be rezoned for residential use in December 2023. The plan includes the development of approximately 1,100 housing units in both public and private sectors.
According to documents from the Development Bureau, the proposed housing development site involves about 1.25 hectares of land at the intersection of Lei Muk Road, Cheung Wing Road, and Kwok Shui Road in Kwai Chung. The site will be divided into two parts: the eastern portion, covering approximately 0.72 hectares, will be designated for private housing development, with a total floor area of about 280,800 square feet, providing around 300 private housing units, along with a care home; the western portion will be for public housing development, approximately 0.53 hectares, with a total floor area of about 441,300 square feet, providing around 800 units, along with retail facilities and more
