The central parity rate of the RMB against the US dollar was lowered by 8 points today, reported at 7.0014 against one US dollar. The People's Bank of China conducted a 7-day reverse repurchase operation of 363.5 billion RMB today (21st), with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 240.8 billion RMB of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net injection of 122.7 billion RMB for the day.

The three major A-share indices opened lower but rose throughout the day. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 4,120 points, up 6 points or 0.2%, with a trading volume of 729.9 billion RMB; the Shenzhen Component Index closed at 14,263 points, up 107 points or 0.8%, with a trading volume of 901 billion RMB; the ChiNext Index closed at 3,306 points, up 28 points or 0.9%, with a trading volume of 408.9 billion RMB.

Banking stocks such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) and China Construction Bank (601939.SH) fell by 1.5% and 0.8%, respectively. Additionally, CATL (300750.SZ) rose by 0.7%. BYD (002594.SZ) fell by 0.4%.

Leading domestic property stocks showed mixed performance, with Vanke A (000002.SZ) rising by 2.3%, as Vanke will pay the interest on the "21 Vanke 02" bond tomorrow (22nd). China Overseas Land & Investment (600048.SH), Poly Developments (600048.SH), and Greenland Holdings (600606.SH) fell between 0.6% and 1.4%. Chengdu Investment Holdings (600649.SH) rose by 9.6%.

With geopolitical tensions rising, safe-haven funds flowed into the gold market, pushing international gold prices to new highs, and gold-related stocks rose, with ZHAOJIN MINING (000506.SZ) hitting the daily limit. SD-GOLD (600547.SH), ZHONGJIN GOLD (600489.SH), and Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining (600988.SH) rose by 4.4% to 6%. Silver prices also increased, with Yinhua CSI Non-ferrous Metal ETF (601212.SH) hitting the daily limit. Rare metal stocks surged, with Zhongkuang Resources (002738.SZ), Xiamen Tungsten (600549.SH), and China Tungsten High-tech (000657.SZ) rising by 6% to 9.5%.

Chip stocks opened lower but rebounded, with SMIC A (688981.SH) and Hua Hong (688347.SH) rising by 4% and 3.8%, respectively. AI chip stock Cambricon (688256.SH) rebounded by 2.1%. Domestic GPU stock Moore Threads (688795.SH) also rose by 2.6%.

Lithium mining stocks strengthened, with Shengxin Lithium Energy (002240.SZ) and Dazhong Mining (001203.SZ) both hitting the daily limit. Aotecar (002239.SZ) rose by 6.1%.

Yonghui Superstores (601933.SH) fell by 4.1% at midday, with expectations that the company's losses will expand to 2.14 billion RMB by 2025, closing 381 stores throughout the year
