Since the closure of Hainan Free Trade Port, the transportation across the Qiongzhou Strait has become increasingly busy. Recently, data released by the Haikou Maritime Safety Administration showed that in the first month after the closure of Hainan Free Trade Port, the maritime department ensured the safe passage of 1.608 million passengers and 475,000 vehicles, representing a month-on-month increase of 9.9% and 7.0%, respectively. According to statistics, the total number of vessels entering and leaving the port reached 12,146, with a cargo throughput of 11.7323 million tons, including a container throughput of 109,500 TEUs. The punctuality rate of passenger roll-on/roll-off vessels remained high at 99.2%. (CCTV News)
