
Deals of the day-Mergers and acquisitions

On January 22, several significant mergers and acquisitions were reported. Beazley rejected a £7.67 billion takeover offer from Zurich Insurance, citing undervaluation. EQT is set to acquire Coller Capital for $3.2 billion. Prudential will buy an additional 19% stake in Sri Han Suria for approximately $376.61 million. ArcelorMittal South Africa is in talks with the IDC for a potential deal. Holcim plans 15 acquisitions by 2026. Telecom operators are negotiating with Altice Group for its French assets. SOCAR will acquire a 10% stake in the Baleine field from Eni, and Telenor will sell its stake in True Corporation for $3.92 billion.
