North Sea Coastal States Agree on Investment Pact for Wind Energy

The North Sea coastal states have signed an investment pact to enhance offshore wind energy production, aiming for 100 GW of capacity and interconnections with neighboring countries. The agreement ensures planning security for the wind industry and commits to a 30% reduction in electricity costs by 2040. An investment of 9.5 billion euros is planned by 2030, creating 91,000 jobs. This initiative aims to provide affordable, clean energy while addressing vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure, highlighted by recent geopolitical tensions.
