Some Singapore Airlines flights between Jan 29 and Feb 8 affected by airspace closure

Singapore Airlines advised in its post on Jan 26 that other flights may also be affected by the airspace closure.SINGAPORE – Several Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights to and from Singapore between Jan 29 and Feb 8 will be affected by the temporary airspace closure for the Singapore Airshow.In a statement on its website and Facebook on Jan 26, the national carrier said it would contact all affected customers to inform them about the flight changes. Customers can also visit its flight status page for the latest information on their flights.“Customers affected by flight cancellations will be reaccommodated on alternative flights, or they may seek a full refund of the unused portion of their ticket,” SIA added.Those who made bookings through travel agents or SIA’s partner airlines should contact their travel agent or purchasing airline directly for assistance, said the airline.One flight from Singapore to Medan, Indonesia, scheduled to depart on Jan 30, will have its departure time moved forward while two flights between Singapore and Bali on Feb 1 will have their flight times adjusted.Two flights between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, scheduled for Feb 3, have been cancelled. Two flights between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur scheduled on Feb 1 and Feb 3, as well as one flight to Penang on Feb 3, will have their flight times re-scheduled.Two flights between Singapore and Phuket on Feb 1 have been cancelled while one flight to Phuket scheduled for Feb 3 will be moved forward by around two hours.Two flights between Singapore and Hong Kong, scheduled to depart on Feb 3, will have their flight times adjusted.One flight from Busan to Singapore on Feb 3 will have its departure time pushed back.SQ915, which departs Manila for Singapore on several dates between Jan 29 and Feb 8, will be renumbered to SQ911 and will have its departure time moved forward by around seven hours.One flight scheduled to depart Singapore for New York on Feb 3 will have its departure time moved forward by around two hours.SIA advised customers to update their contact details as other flights may also be affected by the airspace closure.“SIA apologises to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused,” it added.Source: The Straits Times © SPH Media Limited.
