"Hong Kong Stocks" Hang Seng Index opened high at 198 points, HSBC rose over 2%, gold and silver stocks surged

Investors are optimistic about the performance of U.S. tech stocks, with the Nasdaq rising 0.9% the previous night (27th). The Hong Kong stock market opened higher in the morning, with the Hang Seng Index opening up 198 points or 0.7% at 27,325 points; the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index opened up 58 points or 0.6% at 9,302 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index opened up 31 points or 0.5% at 5,786 points.

In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK) opened up 2.2% at HKD 137.5, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) opened up 0.5% and 0.2%, respectively. Gold prices surpassed USD 5,200, with China Gold International (02099.HK) opening up 3.8%, and Zijin Mining (02899.HK), Shandong Gold (01787.HK), and Zhaojin Mining (01818.HK) opening up 2.2% to 2.6%. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange raised silver margins, causing New York silver to surge, with China Silver International (00815.HK) opening up 2.6%.

In the tech sector, Tencent (00700.HK) and NetEase (09999.HK) opened up 1%, Alibaba (09988.HK), Kuaishou (01024.HK), Meituan (03690.HK), and Bilibili (09626.HK) opened up 0.4% to 0.6%, JD.com (09618.HK) opened up 1.5%, and Baidu (09888.HK) opened down 0.4%. In the chip sector, SMIC (00981.HK) and Hua Hong Semiconductor (01347.HK) opened up 0.8% and 0.9%, respectively. In the automotive sector, BYD (01211.HK) opened up 1.1% at HKD 99.35, while Xiaomi (01810.HK) opened flat at HKD 35.56.

CANSINOBIO (06185.HK) is expected to turn a profit from a loss last year, earning at least RMB 24.5 million, with its stock opening up 3.3%. Ganfeng Lithium (01772.HK) forecasts a full-year profit of RMB 1.1 billion to 1.65 billion, with its stock opening up 1.3%. China OVS PPT (02669.HK) expects a full-year net profit decline of 9% to 10%, with its stock opening down 10.5% at HKD 4.35. Weisheng Holdings (03393.HK) plans to spin off Yuan Energy for an IPO in Hong Kong, with its stock opening up 2%.
