Self-driving truck startup Waabi is teaming up with Uber on robotaxis

Waabi, a Toronto-based autonomous trucking startup, is partnering with Uber to expand into the robotaxi market. Founded in 2021 by Raquel Urtasun, Waabi initially focused on automating trucking routes in Texas using proprietary software. However, as challenges in self-driving trucks became apparent, the company is shifting its focus to robotaxis, capitalizing on the current momentum in that sector.
