According to sources cited by Reuters, Japan's $550 billion investment plan includes a project to build a synthetic diamond factory in the United States, which may be one of the first projects.
The report indicates that the United States aims to accelerate domestic production of synthetic diamonds and establish a U.S.-Japan supply chain that does not rely on China by involving Japanese companies. It is reported that the first batch of projects may also include a large power generation project involving the Japanese industrial giant Hitachi
