Last year, the number of 5G mobile phone users in mainland China exceeded 1.2 billion, and the three major telecommunications companies saw a net increase of 20.99 million broadband users

According to domestic media reports, by the end of last year, the number of 5G mobile phone users in mainland China reached 1.204 billion, accounting for 65.9% of mobile phone users, an increase of 9.2 percentage points year-on-year.

During this period, the total number of mobile phone base stations nationwide reached 12.87 million, with a net increase of 227,000 year-on-year. Among them, there were 4.838 million 5G base stations, with a net increase of 588,000 year-on-year, accounting for 37.6% of the total number of mobile phone base stations, an increase of 4 percentage points year-on-year.

During the same period, the total number of fixed internet broadband access users of the three major telecommunications companies reached 691 million, with a net increase of 20.99 million for the year. Among them, users with access speeds of 1 Gbps and above reached 238 million, with a net increase of 31.57 million for the year, accounting for 34.5% of the total user base, an increase of 3.6 percentage points year-on-year
