Zhao Haijun, Co-CEO of SMIC, stated at the earnings conference that AI demand "can never be fully satisfied" for a certain period. "Currently, everyone's computing power is insufficient because there are grand visions for AI, and we can't wait to build the data centers needed for the next decade within one or two years. As for what to do after they are built, we haven't fully figured that out yet." Zhao Haijun predicts that in this situation, the industry will continue to heavily invest in storage technology, and the shortage of HBM should persist for several years. However, in the future, the constraints on HBM capacity will not be in the front-end wafer production process, but in the back-end testing and other processes. (Yicai)
