The government announced that the Lunar New Year fireworks display for 2026 is scheduled to take place next Wednesday (18th) at 8 PM on the second day of the new year over Victoria Harbour. The fireworks display will last approximately 23 minutes and will feature 31,888 firecrackers, accompanied by light effects.

This year's fireworks display theme is "Success Comes with the Horse," divided into 8 acts. The first act, "The Galloping Horse Sets Off," features high-density opening fireworks that burst forth like galloping horses, marking the beginning of the performance. Following this, firecrackers will layer upon each other, creating a momentum of thousands of horses galloping, highlighting the vigorous start of the Year of the Horse. The second act, "Celebrating the New Year Together," showcases "8"-shaped firecrackers and gold ingot-shaped fireworks in the sky above Victoria Harbour, wishing citizens prosperity, abundance, and good fortune in the Year of the Horse. The fourth act, "Harmonious Vision," features star-like firecrackers, resembling peaceful horses galloping towards the horizon, injecting love and hope into the world. This act also sends blessings to Hong Kong with "Fortune" shaped fireworks. The grand finale, "Success Comes with the Horse," features large crown-shaped firecrackers bursting forth, concluding with a high-density series of fireworks, wishing for the prosperity of the motherland and that everyone's wishes come true
