John Lee: The goal is to complete the "Hong Kong Five-Year Plan" within this year to align with the national "14th Five-Year Plan"
Chief Executive John Lee stated on his social media page that he has emphasized at the meeting of the National Development Integration Steering Group that he will lead the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government in constructing a systematic policy framework, proactively aligning with the national "14th Five-Year Plan," and making more comprehensive, precise, and detailed strategic deployments in key development areas to better integrate Hong Kong into and serve the national development agenda.
John Lee mentioned that he has instructed various policy bureaus to establish preparatory teams and carry out preparatory work, so that when the content and details of the "14th Five-Year Plan" are officially announced, the preparatory teams can transition to align with the "14th Five-Year Plan" drafting team, with the goal of completing the alignment of the "Hong Kong Five-Year Plan" within this year.
He stated that the "Hong Kong Five-Year Plan" aligning with the "14th Five-Year Plan" is an important document that is macro, strategic, and forward-looking, outlining the development vision, core objectives, key areas, and major initiatives for the next five years, providing a clear roadmap and timetable for the socio-economic and livelihood development of Hong Kong, which requires the full government, cross-departmental, and multi-sectoral input and collaboration
