Alibaba-W (09988.HK) Taobao Hong Kong Station recently announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Hong Kong Customs, becoming the first cross-border e-commerce platform to reach such cooperation with Hong Kong Customs. This marks the establishment of a close and systematic collaboration mechanism between Taobao Hong Kong Station and Hong Kong Customs in dimensions such as combating the circulation of prohibited items, optimizing compliance in cross-border logistics, and enhancing consumer protection. Through measures such as information sharing, risk warning, and joint publicity, they aim to strengthen the compliance defense line for e-commerce and prevent prohibited items from entering Hong Kong through online shopping channels from the source.
Taobao Hong Kong Station will provide business insights and forward-looking suggestions that align with the realities of the e-commerce industry to assist in building a more efficient, transparent, and secure regulatory environment for cross-border trade. At the same time, the platform will continue to optimize its internal product review and risk identification mechanisms under the professional guidance of Customs, promoting local cross-border online shopping services towards higher compliance standards.
