Last Thursday morning at 7 o'clock, I was leisurely enjoying milk tea at a tea shop. While checking my phone for any messages to reply to, suddenly a new emoji mocking cartoon from Fat Daughter popped up, with the caption: &#34;Fat Dad, quickly check page A7 of the Sing Tao Daily, there’s a very eye-catching modern version of a fraud!&#34;
It sounded so enticing, I had to take a look! I opened it up, and oh dear, who is playing such a big prank? It turned out to be a half-page advertisement: expert analysis, steady wealth accumulation, all in Sing Tao Finance! The center position featured my pig-headed self, alongside real financial experts and economists like Professor Lam Bun Lee and Professor Tsang Yuen Cheung, it was simply outrageous.
<h2>Wealth Distribution Among 3 Types of Assets</h2>
The whole morning, my annoying friends kept pestering me: &#34;So impressive to be in the center position, finally on the god table, what will you do next week...&#34; Enough already, I appreciate everyone's kind attention, but please stop playing with me. Sigh, now I don’t know what to write for this issue. Well then, on the last day of the Year of the Snake, let’s review my performance for the year.
Readers must know, I am a very conservative investor, already advanced in age, and absolutely will not risk my retirement funds. Therefore, apart from my fully paid self-occupied property, my wealth is mainly distributed in: 1. Government annuities, to ensure I have monthly income until I leave this world; 2. Various government bonds; 3. A few stocks that &#34;the government won’t let die,&#34; including CLP Holdings (002), MTR Corporation (066), Cathay Pacific Airways (293), and HKEX (388).
<h2>4 Major Dividend Stocks, All Have Increased and Paid Dividends</h2>
The returns from the first and second items can be accurately predicted, which is reassuring. What about the third item? Just buying the &#34;the government won’t let die&#34; concept is already very reassuring; the stock prices will rise and fall, but the companies will never &#34;evaporate.&#34; How have the above 4 stocks performed this year?
(1) CLP Holdings 52-week low of HKD 60.45, now close to a new high of HKD 77, with a dividend of 4 cents, great!
(2) MTR Corporation 52-week low of HKD 23.8, now about HKD 37, also heading towards a new annual high, with a dividend of 2.8 cents.
(3) Cathay Pacific 52-week low of HKD 8.5, now about HKD 13, also close to a new annual high, with a dividend yield of 5.35 cents.
(4) HKEX 52-week low of HKD 283.2, highest HKD 466, has been above HKD 400 for the past 7 months, with a dividend yield close to 3 cents.
All four of my dividend stocks have increased and paid dividends in the Year of the Snake, with quite impressive gains.
As for the other two stocks I play with spare money, Vitasoy (345) paid dividends and made a little profit earlier, breaking even; but lululemon (LULU) is still unknown when it will return home.
