The Secretary for Administration, Chan Kwok-kee, stated during a media briefing following the release of the new "Budget" that this year's "Budget" actively aligns with the national strategic blueprint, promoting Hong Kong's better integration into and service for the overall national development. Several key points are worth noting, including further strengthening innovation and technology development, enhancing Hong Kong's status as an international financial center, consolidating the competitiveness of traditional advantageous industries, and actively cultivating and attracting talent.

He pointed out that the "Budget" also takes into account people's livelihoods, moderately strengthening support for citizens and local businesses while fully considering the government's financial situation, responding to the needs of different social strata; and allocating resources to follow up on the long-term housing and follow-up work after the fire at Hong Fu Court, including granting HKD 300 million to the Urban Renewal Authority to assist in launching an enhanced "Tendering Service" to achieve the long-term goal of solving the problem of collusion in building maintenance projects.

He continued to state that this is a comprehensive, pragmatic, and forward-looking budget. Under the leadership of the Chief Executive, the government will continue to make good use of resources to promote economic development, especially accelerating the construction of the Northern Metropolis, while focusing on improving people's livelihoods, enabling Hong Kong to seize new opportunities and enhance its core competitiveness
