Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. (OTC:GELYF) (OTC:GELHY) has outsold BYD Co. Ltd. (OTC:BYDDY) (OTC:BYDDF) for the second consecutive month as competition heats up in the Chinese automotive market.



<h2>Geely Sold More Units Than BYD</h2>



The Zeekr, Polestar Automotive (NASDAQ:PSNY) backer, sold over 76,000 more units than BYD during the first two months of 2026, Bloomberg reported on Sunday. Geely sold over 206,160 units during February this year, compared to BYD, which sold over 190,190 units during the same period.



During January, Geely clocked in 270,000 units sold, while BYD recorded a sales figure of 210,051 units. Geely's exports surged 138%, coming in at over 60,879 units. However, BYD's overseas sales remained strong as the company exported over 100,600 units in February.



<h2>BYD Surges Abroad As Tesla Declines</h2>



The news comes as BYD grew by over 165% in European sales, marking sustained growth in its overseas sales. The world's largest EV maker outsold rival Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA), which recorded a 17% decline in its sales in Europe as the region reported an overall decline of nearly 4% in new car registrations.



However, demand for Tesla's affordable AWD Cybertruck variant, priced at $59,990, could prove to be a bright spot for the Elon Musk-led automaker, which has pivoted towards autonomous vehicles and robotics.
