Vietnam raises $211 mln in govt bond auction

HANOI, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Vietnam’s State Treasury raised 5.56 trillion dong ($211 million) in a weekly government bond auction on Wednesday, down from the $291 million raised last week.The uptake was also lower, with 34.7% of the bonds on offer sold, compared with 52.8% at last week’s auction, according to a Hanoi Stock Exchange filing.

Govt securities mkt expands over 2-fold between 2019 and 2024: RBI report

The Government Securities (G-Sec) market in India has seen significant growth, expanding from ₹769 trillion in 2019 to ₹1,812 trillion in 2024, with transaction volume increasing from 1.37 million to 1.76 million. The Forex Clearing market also grew, with transactions rising from 1.66 million worth ₹466 trillion in 2020 to 2.63 million valued at ₹885 trillion in 2024. Additionally, the Rupee Derivatives market surged from 7,213 transactions worth ₹5.4 trillion in 2019 to 135,000 transactions valued at ₹83 trillion in 2024, indicating a robust upward trend in these financial markets.

Vietnam raises $147 mln in govt bond auction

Vietnam's State Treasury raised 3.88 trillion dong ($147 million) in a government bond auction, significantly up from last week's $3.8 million. The auction saw a 28.7% uptake of bonds sold, compared to just 0.7% previously. This brings total government bond sales for the year to 230 trillion dong ($8.7 billion), with a target of 500 trillion dong for 2023. The treasury sold 3.86 trillion dong of 10-year bonds at a 3.51% coupon but struggled with longer-term bonds, selling only 20 billion dong of 30-year bonds. Vietnamese companies have raised 376 trillion dong in bonds this year, with a significant portion maturing in the real estate and banking sectors.
