German spot falls on stronger wind output
The German spot electricity price for Thursday dropped 10.3% to 70.40 euros/MWh due to increased wind supply and lower demand forecasts. In contrast, the French price rose 38.9% to 31.25 euros/MWh amid stronger demand post-holiday. German wind generation is expected to rise to 30 GW, while French wind power is projected to decrease. Analysts predict warm conditions will persist, reducing power demand, but next week's forecasts indicate a temperature drop. RWE reported higher-than-expected profits for the first nine months, aided by a data center project sale.
