Finland – Olana gets Rabo BESS PF

By Cristiana SandevaFinnish independent power producer Olana Energy has closed project financing for a BESS portfolio via Rabobank as sole lender and hedging bank. The deal marks Olana's first senior debt financing and covers a portfolio of assets ranging from 5MW to 30MW per project that will be used to stabilise the Finnish grid.Olana has commissioned three BESS projects totalling 25MW/30MWh across Finland, representing about 10% of the country’s energy storage capacity for grid services. The schemes are the 5MW/6MWh Turku BESS, the 10MW/12MWh Siilinjarvi BESS and the 10MW/12MWh Selkio BESS.
