World wine output set for modest 2025 recovery, says industry body
Global wine production is expected to recover modestly in 2025, reaching approximately 232 million hectolitres, a 3% increase from 2024. However, output will remain below recent averages due to climate change and shifting consumer habits, according to the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). The EU, responsible for 60% of production, faces high climatic variability, with France and Spain experiencing low harvests. While some regions see improvements, global wine consumption has declined, reaching its lowest level in over 60 years.
