According to the latest data from the Census and Statistics Department, Hong Kong's unemployment rate slightly increased by 0.1 percentage points to 3.9% during the period from November 2025 to January 2026, slightly higher than the market expectation of 3.8%. The total number of employed persons decreased by approximately 1,100 to 3,665,900. The number of unemployed persons was 138,400, and the number of underemployed persons was 65,100. Secretary for Labour and Welfare Sun Yuhan stated that Hong Kong's economic growth will support the labor market, but certain industries may face challenges
