The Health Department promotes a graded diversion mechanism for the approval of traditional Chinese medicine registration applications
The Department of Health announced that starting from January 1, 2026, it will pilot the "Tiered and Streamlined Review and Approval Arrangement for the Registration Applications of Traditional Chinese Medicine," adding two levels: "Innovative Drugs" and "Designated Priority Products," to expedite the processing of registration applications. The approval time for innovative drugs is 120 working days, while designated priority products will take 150 working days. The new mechanism aims to accelerate the approval speed, help enterprises plan their business and resources more effectively, and promote Hong Kong as an international hub for medical innovation
