US banks shelve $20 billion bailout plan for Argentina, WSJ reports
A planned $20 billion bailout for Argentina by JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citigroup has been shelved. Instead, a smaller, short-term loan package of around $5 billion is being considered. The funds would help with a $4 billion debt payment due in January. Talks are still in initial stages and could change or fall through.
