Kazakhstan says special commission investigating Tengiz incident
Kazakhstan's energy ministry announced a special commission is investigating the January 18 fire incident at the Tengiz oil field, which has halted production. The shutdown may last another 7-10 days as the commission conducts a technical analysis to determine the cause of the fire. Tengizchevroil, operated by Chevron, has declared force majeure on CPC Blend supplies due to the incident, which was necessary to protect personnel and equipment.
