In 2025, CATL and BYD dominated China's EV battery market with shares of 43.42% and 21.58%, respectively. CATL installed 333.57 GWh of batteries, powering 5.07 million vehicles, while BYD installed 165.77 GWh for 3.82 million vehicles. CALB ranked third with 53.61 GWh and a 6.98% market share. CATL also led in the ternary battery segment with a 70.90% share, while BYD's share in LFP batteries fell to 26.51%. Overall, CATL's market share decreased slightly from 2024, while BYD's share saw a more significant decline.
