China’s EV battery market grows by 40 percent

China's EV battery market saw a 40.4% growth in 2025, reaching a total capacity of 769.7 GWh. LFP cells dominated, accounting for 81.2% of the market with 625.3 GWh, while NMC batteries only made up 18.7% with 144.1 GWh. CATL led production with a 43.4% market share, followed by BYD at 21.6%. China's Ningbo Ronbay Shares Fall After CATL-Related Regulatory Probe

The site has achieved a 56% reduction in carbon footprint and has assisted 13 suppliers in obtaining carbon neutrality certification. CATL now holds four Lighthouse certifications across its manufacturing network.

Top battery makers' market share in China in 2025: CATL 43.42%, BYD 21.58%

In 2025, CATL and BYD dominated China's EV battery market with shares of 43.42% and 21.58%, respectively. CATL installed 333.57 GWh of batteries, powering 5.07 million vehicles, while BYD installed 165.77 GWh for 3.82 million vehicles. CALB ranked third with 53.61 GWh and a 6.98% market share. CATL also led in the ternary battery segment with a 70.90% share, while BYD's share in LFP batteries fell to 26.51%. Overall, CATL's market share decreased slightly from 2024, while BYD's share saw a more significant decline.

In the morning, the main funds had a net inflow into sectors such as electronics, automobiles, machinery and equipment, construction decoration, non-ferrous metals, and power equipment, while there was a net outflow from sectors like computers, media, pharmaceuticals and biology, non-bank financials, defense and military industry, and communications. Specifically, in terms of individual stocks, JCET, Sanhua, and POWERCHINA Ltd received net inflows of 2.978 billion yuan, 2.222 billion yuan, and 1.860 billion yuan, respectively.
